Safari Highlights
This Safari starts in Kampala and ends in Kigali or Kampala. It will be conducted in Uganda and Rwanda; the two best Gorilla safari destinations in Africa. This is where you will explore all the best these two countries have to offer to tourists in the tropic Africa. Some of the activities in this safari include excellent bird watching, gorilla tracking in Uganda and Rwanda, primates trekking, game drives, Cultural excursions, nature walks, Boat trip, photographing, city tours in Kigali and Kampala among others.

Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park
Day 2: Lake Mburo – Bwindi Forest
Day 3: Gorilla tracking: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Day 4: Depart Bwindi Forest (Uganda) – Parc National Des Volcans (Rwanda)
Day 5: Another Day of Gorilla Tracking Expedition
Day 6: Golden Monkey tracking - Kigali City Tour
Day 7: Departure

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Lake Mburo National Park
Have breakfast and depart for Lake Mburo National Park (3-4 hours drive) with a stopover at the Equator for photographs. Proceed for an afternoon boat ride along Lake Mburo in search for water birds such as pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, and the rare shoebill. Other animals seen include Crocodiles and Hippos among others. Dinner and overnight in Arcadia Cottages or Rwonyo Camps.

Day 2: Lake Mburo – Bwindi Forest
After a cup of tea/coffee, go for an early morning game drive in search for animals, and the common ones are Zebra, Impala, Buffalo, Topi, and Eland as herbivores not to leave out the rare slightly of Roan antelope and leopard, Hyenas and jackals as predictors. Return to the lodge for full breakfast. Depart Lake Mburo immediately for Bwindi National Park with lots of game and scenic viewing en-route. It is a 5-6 hours drive, dinner and overnight stay in Kitandara Camps or Buhoma Homesteads.
 
Day 3: Gorilla tracking: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have early breakfast, assemble at Bwindi park headquarters with packed lunch for a briefing about the ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ while with gorillas. Tracking can take 2-9 hours depending on their movements. You will penetrate the impenetrable forest; climb steep, muddy and slippery grounds of the jungle till you meet the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. You will stay with these Giant apes for 1 hour for observation and photography.
If the evening is free, we can take a cultural walk to nearby Batwa communities. Dinner and overnight stay in Kitandara Camps or Buhoma Homesteads.

Day 4: Depart Bwindi Forest (Uganda) – Parc National Des Volcans (Rwanda)
After breakfast, depart for Rwanda for another magical experience of gorilla tracking. Crossing Rwanda border requires $60 visa fee (for those who require Visa), arrive at the Mountain Gorilla’s Nest resort or Kinigi Guest House by late afternoon. Your guide will brief you about the gorilla trek for the next day as you wait for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Another Day of Gorilla Tracking Excursion
An early breakfast after which you proceed to Kinigi Park Headquarters for a 30 minutes briefing about Gorilla tracking, then continue on for the trek with packed lunch and water. This is another incredible experience in Rwanda’s Parc National des Volcans.

Day 6: Golden Monkey tracking - Kigali Genocide Memorial Site
After breakfast, you will proceed for Golden Monkey tracking and later after lunch, connect to Kigali for a city tour with visits to the Genocide memorial sites, cultural museum, curio markets and the Kimironko fruits markets where you have a chance to meet the local people and choose your fruit basket.  Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Gorillas / Kigali Serena Hotel.

Day 7: Travel back Uganda
Wake up early for breakfast and prepare your self for your scheduled flight from Kigali back home.
Alternatively, we can drive back to Kampala by road. Expect lots of game viewing en-route, enter Kampala by Evening. Dinner and overnight at Holiday Express or Kampala Forest Cottages.
